In the years following the Civil War there were several Confederate veterans organizations in Dallas. As the veterans died, their sons and daughters continued to operate associations for the families of those who had been involved in the conflict. This collection contains materials from the United Confederate Veterans, the Dallas Chapter - United Daughters of the Confederacy, and the United Sons of Confederate Veterans. It consists primarily of dues ledgers, minutes, reunion programs, and ephemera (medals, buttons, and ribbons) from both Dallas and national Confederate veterans organizations. Several miscellaneous items, including an Oak Cliff advertising card (c. 1891) with a bird's eye view of the development are also part of this collection.
