Junius Heights Collection

5710 Tremont

Historical Background

Junius Heights was developed by C.H. Munger. The development was created on the eastern edge of the city of Dallas in 1906. Known for its trademark columns at the entrance of the development as well as its architecturally important craftsman and prairie style bungalows, Junius Heights prospered. By the twenties it had streetcar service and paved roads. The neighborhood suffered a brief decline during the fifties and sixties until the Junius Heights Neighborhood Association had the area declared a Historic District.

Scope and Contents

The Junius Heights collection consists of materials relating to 5710 Tremont, as well as material on Junius Heights. Information on 5710 Tremont is a photograph, property tax information and home owner's insurance claims. The collection also contains a play map of Junius Heights and abstracts of property.
