I ran faster than a speeding bullet speeding through the air, wanting to win first place in the long arduous running race. Suddenly I reached a quick turn; I dove into the cement like an Olympic swimmer diving into the water. My knee ached with pain like somebody had dropped one-hundred pounds on my leg. Part of me wanted to quit but then I remembered a book I had read. Thanks to The Trumpet of the Swan, I had learned to never give up.
Before I read The Trumpet of the Swans I did not think I could run an extra mile, read an extra page, and achieve something that seemed impossible. As I turned the pages of this book I realized that money, size, or how talented you are in a particular subject does not matter, what matters is how hard you work. You can be so talented but in the end if you don’t put effort in what you are doing, then you can’t be as proud as if you worked hard.
Speaking of special talent, I have learned that everyone in the world has a special talent. Perhaps you have a talent that allows you to do something no one can do, or maybe you simply have the talent to stick to your goals. Believe it or not, being a dedicated person is just as well as talented as a person that can do amazing tricks.
Whether you are an Olympian, a writer, or a dedicated person, remember to always stick to your goals. Sticking to my goals is one thing I have learned thanks to The Trumpet of the Swans.
