In February, 2009, the unit launched a new Job Seekers Resource Center offering:
- Basic Computer Skill for the beginners
- Introduction to the Internet
- Establishing an email account
- Navigating Neogov - the City of Dallas Employment website
- Using Microsoft Outlook
- Help with your Résumé (by appointment)

Beginning in January 2005, the Business & Technology Division underwent the second phase of its renovation. As a result, the public area has been expanded and reconfigured to create a more customer-oriented environment that facilitates research and learning.
New features library users will find include:
- 3,136 additional square feet available for public service.
- The state-of-the-art, handicap accessible, Nancy and Jake L. Hamon Training Room and Hillcrest Foundation Videoconference Center with a seating capacity of 54.
- An additional conference room for smaller meetings and training sessions.
- The floor features three wireless connection access points.
