Introduction

Join with others to build a better neighborhood! These links offer resources and ideas to make our neighborhoods safer, healthier, more beautiful, child-friendly and prosperous. (The focus here is on citizen-led initiatives. Certainly, government agencies have a hand in many of these areas, but that falls outside the scope of this guide.)

Recycling Centers - Igloos

We have created a Google map of recycling locations around the City. It includes only the sites that we were able to verify. If you notice errors or omissions, please let us know (214-670/1470 or government@dallaslibrary.org.). These are the plastic igloos where one may drop off bottles, newspapers, etc. The map itself has details on each location. To find a bin where you can drop off newspapers and boxes, use this online locator.

(Note: See the Community Information Database for a comprehensive listing of area environmental and gardening organizations.)
