  • Bookmobile: Two rolling libraries bring books and computers to neighborhoods and locales.
  • Classes: We offer free computer, G.E.D. (Graduate Equivalency Diploma) and E.S.L. (English as a Second Language) classes.
  • Community Information Database: Find contact info and descriptions for 5,000+ local nonprofits, agencies and hobby groups organized under 150 subjects terms.
  • Every Child Ready to Read: Every Child Ready to Read @ Dallas is a program for parents, caregivers and childcare providers, it focuses on the 6 essential pre-reading skills that every child needs to learn to read and be successful in school.
  • Free WiFi: Available at all our branches.
  • Job Seekers: Our career page is a great place to start looking and applying for jobs online. The Central Library's Job Seekers Resource Center offers a range of additional, free workshops and services.
  • Interlibrary Loan: Can't find what you need in our collections? This service lets you borrow materials--including books, DVDs, CDs, and items in other formats--from libraries throughout the country. We do the work, and the service is normally provided at no charge to you.
  • Texas Center for the Book: Fosters public appreciation of, and support for, books, reading and libraries.
