Scope and ContentsThe Texas Federation of Music Clubs was established in 1915 in Brownwood Texas as an organization to affiliate and organize local music clubs. Dallas clubs are organized in the second district of the Texas Federation. The Dallas Federation of Music Clubs was organized in 1921 and consists of the founding clubs: Cecilian Club, Dallas Music Teachers' Association, Grace Methodist Choir, Mickwitz Club, Mozart Club, Music Department of the Dallas Woman's Forum, Music Study Club, Reuben Davies Club, Schubert Choral Club, Schubert Male Chorus, Texas Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, Trio Club and the Wednesday Morning Choral Club. More groups later joined the Dallas branch of the Texas Federation, including the Music and Drama Club, the creators of this group of scrapbooks. The Music and Drama Club was created in May of 1960 to establish a group to study fine arts. Four of the five scrapbooks cover the activities of this organization. The dates cover its inception in 1960 to 1991 and include yearbooks, news clippings, program information and photographs. The 1958-1960 scrapbook covers both Texas and Dallas Federation of Music Club activities and details the goings on of each of the member clubs of the Dallas Federation during this date range.
